Leo Mulcahy Obituary

Leo B. Mulcahy, 84, passed away peacefully at home November 4th 2010 in the love and care of his wife and family. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Lou (Mullen) Brennan Mulcahy; one daughter, Judy Richter of New Jersey; four sons, John and his wife Janet of Florida, Thomas of Grafton, Paul and his wife Cindy of Chapin, SC, Peter and his wife Debbie of Charlton; his wife's daughter, Laura Brennan of Texas; his first wife, Janet (Largesse) Mulcahy; his brother, Paul Mulcahy of W. Virginia; 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. His daughter Donna Mulcahy passed in 1960. Mr. Mulcahy was born in Grafton May 23, 1926 the son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Ayers) Mulcahy, raised in Worcester, lived many years in Grafton, several years in South Carolina returning to Auburn recently. Mr. Mulcahy worked 25 years with Metso Co. which became Jamesbury Valve in Worcester retiring in 1989. He also was a driving instructor with Wahlgren's Driving Academy in Grafton. Leo was a World War II veteran serving his country in The US Navy and he was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in North Grafton. He was a loving and devoted husband and father whose greatest joy was his family. Leo loved birds and was a life member and secretary of The Worcester Homing Pigeon Club and a member of The Rhode Island Pigeon Club. The family asks that you honor Leo with memorial donations to The Grafton Food Bank, PO Box 324, Grafton, MA 01519 or Holy Trinity Hospice, 1183 Main St., Worcester, MA 01603 in lieu of flowers.

Funeral & Calling Hours

The funeral will be Saturday November 13th from THE RONEY FUNERAL HOME, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton followed by the celebration of a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m in St. Mary's Church, 17 Waterville St., North Grafton. He will then be laid to rest with Military Honors in Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton. The family will receive people at calling hours Saturday Nov. 13th from 8:30 a.m to 10:30 a.m in the funeral home before the Funeral Mass.
