Samantha Prescott Obituary
Her personality and smile left an indelible mark on her friends, family and all who knew her. In her far too brief time here, she excelled at all she put her effort into. Those who knew her saw that she had an insatiable passion for life and her true love of soccer and her soccer team, the Stars of Massachusetts, which she considered her 2nd family.
She had been diagnosed with brain cancer in April, 2011, and continued her fight to the end with courage and the support of all in "Sam Nation".
She leaves behind her proud parents, Michael Prescott and Joyce Hegeman, and her sister, Hailey. She also leaves her grandfather, George Hegeman, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends.
Sam's Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, December 8, in the Village Congregational Church, 25 Church Street, Whitinsville. Visitation with family and friends will be 4-7 PM, Wednesday, December 7, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville.
Donations are requested, in lieu of flowers, to a place very special to Samantha: Give Kids the World, 210 S. Bass Road, Kissimmee, FL, 34746. Please put Samantha's name on the memo line or separate piece of paper when doing this.

Dear Mom, Dad and Hailey,
No words see right but I am so saddened by the loss of your precious Sam. As the world continues on, yours comes to a stop. I know, share and understand the worst loss that life has to offer, the loss of your child, because two years ago I lost my treasured 18 year old son, Chad Holbrook.
My other three children know your daughter Hailey's loss and pain which is huge.
I ache for your family and won't forget your brave, beautiful little girl.
I promise to be there for you if and when you are ready. I am so sorry.

We did not know Sam, but we are so saddened to read this obituary. She left this world too soon. We lost our dad to brain cancer and know the sorrow this disease causes. Our hearts go out to you at this time and in the days ahead.

Dear Mike, Joyce and Hailey, it is with heavy heart I send you my sincere condolences. Words can't express the depth of grief everyone feels for one so young and full of potential. Although I never met Sam, I feel as if I did through contact with the T&G and Mike. I hope and pray that God will give your family and all of Sam's friends the peace and strength to know she is resting with Jesus where He welcomed her with open arms. I read about Sam's passing in the paper and the battle she fought since April. YOu don't need me to tell you how strong she was, you already know that. I want to tell you how reading of her passing affected me and the sorrow I felt while reading it. She was so young but so very courageous too. may she find peace in eternal life and may you find comfort during the upcoming holidays. Feel blessed for the time you did have with Sam, as others like me were not fortunate enough to know her personally and that is our loss ...God bless you all!

i am so sorry for your loss. i can't imagine how heartbroken you must be feeling right now. I truly wish that there were magic words to help alleviate it. Sam remains the sole symbol of hope, strength, and compassion in our minds and she will never leave our thoughts.Sam was one of those few people who are exceptional at everything they do and was one of the most courageous and compassionate people that i have ever met. I met Sam when I was working with Tip on the REAL Futbol event that we did in June. Although I just met her that one day she impressed me with her spirit and smile that she exhibited in spite of the terrible hand that had been dealt to her.

i met Sam during regionals this year. i was on the u15 bayside team.even though i didnt really know your daughter she touched my heart in many ways. she taught me to never lose hope even during the worst of times.again even though i barely knew her i love her.god bless her soul and may god look down upon your family and help you through these hard times.

I just happened to read her obituary online for the Worcester Telegram. She sounds like a very special young lady.
