Lloyd Buckley Obituary
He leaves his wife of 41 years, Geraldine P. (Laukaitis) Buckley, two brothers, three sisters, aunts, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces including Kelsey Martin. He was born in Worcester, a son of Lloyd W. Buckley, Sr. and Edith (Bastille) Buckley and lived in Worcester most of his life.
Mr. Buckley was a self employed CPA for many years. Previously he was a nursing home administrator. He earned his MBA from Anna Maria College and his Bachelors degree and a Masters degree from Assumption College. He was a member of Our Lady of Vilna Church and the Chess Club at the JCC.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 26, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Vilna Church, 151 Sterling St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday May 26, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Vilna Church, 153 Sterling St., Worcester, MA 01610.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of Lloyd. He was a nice man. I remember him coming into the nursing home with a friendly smile for all of us.

On behalf of the Massachusetts Chess Association (MACA), I extend condolences to the Buckley family on the passing of Lloyd. Lloyd was a life member of both MACA and the U.S. Chess Federation. He was one of most active members of the Worcester Chess Club during the 1970s and '80s. May he rest in peace.
