Bernard Simonelli Obituary

Bernard R. Simonelli, 80

Falmouth - Bernard "Ben" R. Simonelli passed away on May 26th in Falmouth, Ma. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Geraldine "Gerry" L. Kraska in 1968. He is survived by his son Guy S. Simonelli and his partner Lesley L. Talar of Waterford, Ct.; a sister Mary Simonelli of Shrewsbury; his brother Alberto and wife Elizabeth (Burns) Simonelli of Worcester; and sister Theresa Guenther of Dudley; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was born in Worcester in 1936. He was a graduate of Classical High School in 1954. Served in the army from 55-57. Graduated from Worcester State College in 1961. He then moved to New York City in 1962 taking a job in insurance. While there he met his wife Gerry and they married in 1964. Moving to Chicago they had a son in 1967. Gerry passed away in 1968. He then moved back to Worcester to be closer to his family. To spend more time with his son and ailing mother during the day, he quit insurance and became a cab driver. After the death of his mother in 1981 and the graduation of his son from college in 1989 he moved to Falmouth, Ma., where he retired. Ever since his college days, going back to 1958, he had a great love for Cape Cod. Burial and services are private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
