Princeton - Charles R. Dix, Jr., 69, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Charles leaves his wife of 22 years, Louise A. (Healey) Hotaling Dix; two stepsons, Jason P. Hotaling and his wife Christine of West Boylston and Christopher H. Hotaling and Janet Engelhardt of Sterling; three grandchildren, Andrew E. Hotaling of Holden, Peyton M. Hotaling of West Boylston and Rylee A. Hotaling of West Boylston; his brother, Wayne R. Dix of Holden; two sisters, Joyce A. Faford of Bonita Springs, FL and Nancy A. Muniz of Cape Coral, FL and several nieces and nephews. His sister, Patricia A. Forbes predeceased him.
Charles was born in Worcester son of the late Charles R. Dix, Sr. and Eva (Morin) Dix. Mr. Dix attended Worcester Public Schools and graduated from Worcester State College in 1965. He was a graduate of the Greater Worcester Executive Program from WPI and Clark University. He served as a First Lt. in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War
Charles was vice president of manufacturing at Metso Automation, Inc. (formerly Jamesbury) in Shrewsbury where he worked 40 years, retiring in 2004. While working at Jamesbury Corp. he served 15 years as a member of the National Valve Manufacturer's Association, Statistics Committee and as National Chairman of the Statistics Committee from 1994-1996. He served as a member of the Princeton Advisory Board from 2003-2005. He was a Princeton resident since 1980.
Charles enjoyed reading, travel, fishing and golf and was a founding member of Sterling Country Club.
A Memorial Service for Charles will be held on Saturday, November 24th at 10:00 am at The First Congregational Church of Princeton, 14 Mountain Rd. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to The First Congregational Church of Princeton, 14 Mountain Rd., Princeton, MA 01541.
