Eugene R. "Red"
WORCESTER - Eugene R. "Red" Foley, 90, of Worcester, died Thursday, September 26, 1013 in Rose Monahan Hospice Center, 10 Judith Road. His wife of sixty-five years, Evelyn R. (Mayo) Foley died in 2011. He is survived by three sons, Richard R. Foley of Millbury and twin sons, James J. Foley of Holland and John M. "Jack" Foley of Worcester; a daughter Patricia J. Foley of Auburn, sixteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two sons Thomas J. and Robert E. Foley and a sister Claire LaCroix. He was born in Worcester a son of Bartholomew and Mary A. (Tangney) Foley.
Mr. Foley worked thirty-two years as a truck driver for Spector Freight Company prior to retiring in 1982. He was a veteran of the US Army
serving in Korea during World War II
. He was a member of the Brown Square Civic Club, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the former Knights of Columbus, Pope John XXIII Council and St. Stephen Church. He was also a member of the Teamsters local 404 and 170.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton Street. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Monday, September 30, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
