Joseph E. Lavin, 83
BOYLSTON - Joseph E Lavin, 83, of Boylston, passed away on March 27, 2013 in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center Worcester, MA.
Joseph was born in Worcester to the late Joseph and Mary (McDonough) Lavin. He joined the US Army
achieving PFC while serving in Korea. He received his degree from Quinsigamond Community College and worked as a Worcester Fire Fighter
for 31 years. He loved to Golf and was an active member of Green Hill golf course, the Retired Men's Club of Greendale, and was an avid Holy Cross Basketball fan. Joe was a kind and gentle man, proud of his Irish heritage, and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Joseph is survived by his wife Mary (Fogarty) Lavin; two sisters, Mary Tyrrell, and Margaret, wife of Martin Melia; and a sister-in law, June Lavin. He is survived and loved dearly by 14 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, William Lavin and a dear niece, Patricia Tyrrell.
There will be calling hours Monday, April 1st from 5 to 8 p.m. at FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 1 W Boylston St., West Boylston. The funeral will be Tuesday, April 2nd from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. at Saint Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross St., Boylston. Burial will be at a later date.
