Ruth A. (Chapman) Wetherell, 60
Clinton - Ruth A. (Chapman) Wetherell, 60, of 309 Church St., formerly of 188 Chace St., died Saturday, September 15, 2012 in UMass Memorial Healthcare, University Campus, Worcester.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, John H. Wetherell, Sr.; a son, John H. Wetherell, Jr. of Clinton; a daughter, Margaret A. Bohannon and her husband, Jon, of Clinton; a grandson, Aidan X. Bohannon; a sister, Dottie J. Jensen and her husband, James, of Shrewsbury; and a niece, Julianne D. Jensen. She was predeceased by her brother, Frederick L. Chapman, Jr., who died in 2000.
Ruth was born in Clinton, daughter of the late Frederick L. and Doris I. (Bennett) Chapman and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Worcester Girls Trade High School, Class of 1969, and the former Ward School of Business, Worcester, in 1970.
For several years, Ruth worked as a sales associate at Woolworth's and the JC Penney Stores, both formerly located in Clinton. She later worked at the former Colonial Press, Inc., Ray-O-Vac Co., and ITT Suprenant.
A member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish, and the former Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Ruth had also been a member of the Sterling Grange. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and spending time with her family.
Ruth's funeral will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 pm.
