Filimon Georgakis Obituary
Filimon Georgakis, 91

Bolton - Filimon A. Georgakis, 91, formerly of Bolton, died Friday, July 27, 2018, in Sterling Village, after a period of declining health.

Born and raised in Leukas, Greece, the son of Aristelis and Konkilo (Fremeditis) Georgakis, he attended local schools. Following his military service as a Sgt. in the Greek Army, he then worked for several years as Secretary and Music Director at the House of Correction for Boys in Corfu, Greece.

In 1965, Filimon immigrated to the United States, and settled in Bolton. He was employed as a machinist in the wire manufacturing industry for many years before retirement.

Music was essential to Filimon, and he enjoyed membership in the Northboro Community Chorus; playing Bingo in his free time, and above all, spending time with friends and family, especially, great-grandchildren, Raymond and Jake Notaro.

He is survived by a son, Gerasimos Georgakis, in Athens, Greece; his companion of the last 39 years, Shirley A. Haynes, formerly of Bolton, and her family, whom he considered as his own: a daughter, Arlene F. Gnoza, wife of the late Michael Gnoza, of Clinton; two sons: Mark R. Domkowski of Gardner, and Stephen P. Domkowski of CA; many grandchildren, and their extended families, among them, Tiffany Gnoza, Anthony M. Notaro and his wife, Julie, all of Clinton. He was predeceased by his wife, Stavoula (Stathoulis) Georgakis, many years ago; one brother and one sister; also, Shirley's daughter, Cheryl A. Burke, and two sons: Edmund F. and Mitchell J. Domkowski.

Funeral services are to be held privately. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton. To share a memory, or to leave a message of condolence please visit
