Clinton - Helen C. (Duvarney) Baird, 85, formerly of 194 Fitch Road, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 in Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Worcester, after a long illness. Her husband of 55 years, Edward C. Baird, Sr., died in 2006.
She leaves three daughters: Lois A. Hoffman and her husband, Craig, of Naples, FL, Marianne Sargent and her husband, Brian, of Leominster and Jeanne M. Dietel and her husband, Irv, of Sterling; a son, Edward C. Baird, Jr., and his wife, Donna Roberson, of Clinton; two sisters: Marie T. Duvarney of Leominster and Beatrice Serewicz of Sterling; two brothers: Edward J. Duvarney of VA and Joseph T. Duvarney of Sterling; eight grandchildren: Tracy Hoffman, Tara Ericson, Sarah Leshay, Peter, Molly & Emily Baird, and Kristen & Julie Dietel; three great-grandchildren: Zachary & Bridget Ericson and Anna Rose Leshay; many nieces and nephews. One sister, Dorothy Whitney, predeceased her.
Helen was born and raised in Lancaster, daughter of Albert and Louise (Poulin) Duvarney. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School, Class of 1945.
For 18 years, Helen worked as an Assembler at Ray-O-Vac, formerly of Clinton. She then worked at LFE Electronics, Clinton, for 10 years before her retirement.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and gardening.

Helen's funeral will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, from the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour at the funeral home on Saturday morning, from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m., prior to the funeral service.
