Justin and I were very close since we met back in 1998, and he was an enormous part of my life. I'm devastated by this loss, for you Steve & Nancy, and for all that new him. He was one of a kind, and has left an unfillable hole in so many hearts.
Forever in black jeans, with his bad-boy persona that never fooled anyone ever, Justin was indeed a tender soul that I will carry in my heart always.
I'll treasure our arguments about how he mis-pronounced 'hotdog' as "hutdog" and 'popeye's' as "pupeye's",. One of many funny memories I'll treasure.
Thank you Steve & Nancy for allowing me to grieve and share with you, for being part of my life now - may we serve as reminders to each other of how loved he really was.
see you somewhere on the infinite loop, my love.

Justin worked with my husband at Magna and they were close friends. Every 4th of July, Justin would stay with us in New Jersey. The best part of the weekend was the car ride to and from the 4th of July BBQ. My husband would play a song and Justin and I would see who could name it first. Our 3 kids would play too and they loved it. Of course, Justin usually won. At the BBQ, Justin was always the wiffle ball king too.
A few weeks ago Justin watched our house and dog when went to Florida. He stayed in my son's room and now it will forever remind me of him. I always smile when I think of Justin in his skinny jeans and black t-shirt in 100 degree weather. He was so intelligent, kind hearted and loved his soccer and music. He will truly be missed by the entire Hickman family.

Steve and Nancy - Immeasurably sorry for your loss. Seriously going to miss my only bro in Philadelphia. I will always cherish meeting you, and having that chance to reminisce about Justin... and also unexpectedly coming in contact with a few people whose lives were also touched by Justin. He was one of the good ones. - Al

I had the great privilege of meeting and getting to know Justin, who we lovingly know by his nickname “Chachi,” since moving to Philadelphia a few years ago. He was an incredibly kind, kindred spirit, with a remarkable knowledge of and passion for a wide range of music and literature. In a world where it's so easy to steal mp3s from the internet, Chachi was a devoted supporter of local record stores and mailorders around the world, where he enjoyed shopping for his beloved vinyl records. He loved going to concerts and would occasionally serve as the DJ. He was the kind of guy who took the trouble to come all the way across town on a Saturday morning, just to get his hair cut at his favorite old school barbershop. My boyfriend and I would run into Chachi in Center City once in a while – he was so damn cute and had such a unique sense of style, that it was always a pleasure to spot him in a crowd of suits. I loved Chachi from the minute I met him, and I will never stop hoping I catch him out of the corner of my eye somewhere.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends during this devastating time. Chachi had a heart of gold and he will be missed dearly.

I met Justin in 1998. I live in Europe and I was on tour. He was a great friend, a very intelligent person and we had many laughs together. I stayed with him in 2005, had lots of laughs and discussions on literature, film and music. I have nothing but fond memories of Justin and will never forget my friend. RIP.
Miss you, Chachi! xo Maria

I never knew you physically, but within your sounds I feel you spiritually .
Hearing your soul being amplified within every chord, forever you will live on. As I listen to the songs I now hear heaven whispering, letting me know within the dark you can spark a light ,and I now appreciate every cloud and every star in the sky.
No matter how far, No matter how high, your fans will be dancing to your music , while you cast us a beautiful ray of sunshine . Rest in peace Justin.

I remember Justin riding my bus when we were little. At a time when most boys were mean, he was the very sweetest possible. We lost touch when I moved to Vermont, but by the description of his accomplishments, he continued to be an commendable fellow. My love goes out to his family.
