Kori (Beardsley) Stuart-Brix Obituary
Kori V. (Beardsley) Stuart-Brix, 43

Sterling - Kori V. (Beardsley) Stuart-Brix, 43, beloved wife of Erik A. Brix, passed away peacefully at Massachusetts General Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 14, 2018.

She was the daughter of David E. Beardsley and Louise Vance. Kori was born and raised in Stamford, CT and later moved with her family to Acton. Prior to graduating from Acton High School, she excelled in girls softball and led the team to the state championships. She furthered her education by attending Quinnipiac University before settling in Sterling where she would raise her daughters. She worked as a tax collector for the town of Hubbardston and then was an office manager for the Simpson Companies in Sterling. Whether enjoying time spent with family and friends at Lake Winnipesaukee, Kori always enjoyed life to the fullest.

Kori acknowledged life in a positive sense and with clarity. She always saw the bright light at the end of every tunnel. Life was an adventure for Kori. One such adventure began as a young softball player who would go on to follow in her father's footsteps by revitalizing the sport in her own community, the Town of Sterling. Kori coached her daughters' teams and was a board member and president of the Sterling Girls Softball Association (SGSA). Her love for the game and her love for the girls on her team knew no boundaries. She truly lived the philosophy of the SGSA which teaches the ideals of good sportsmanship, courage, honesty, loyalty and respect. Her enthusiasm for softball was contagious and to the girls on the team, Kori will always be their hero.

Kori will be forever missed and remembered by her husband, Erik A. Brix; her three cherished daughters, Jourdan, Taylor and Delani Stuart of Sterling; her step-children, Carter and Gillian Brix of Moosup, CT; her father, David E. Beardsley of West Boylston; her mother, Louise Vance of Exeter, NH; a brother, Phelan J. Beardsley of San Francisco, CA; her former husband, Eric Stuart of Sterling; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Kori's family to celebrate her life from 5 to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 23 at the Miles Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sterling Girls Softball Association (SGSA), P.O. Box 742, Sterling, MA 01564.
