Nicholas M. Mastromatteo, 81 WORCESTER - Nicholas M. Mastromatteo, 81, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. Nicholas is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Rose M. (Kachajian) Mastromatteo; three sons, Nicholas G. Mastromatteo of Framingham, Joseph F. Mastromatteo and his wife Laura of Worcester and Anthony J. Mastromatteo and his wife Jennifer of Shrewsbury; two daughters, Teresa Porter and her husband Alan of Florida and Angela Lamoureux and her husband Robert of Worcester; a sister, Josephine Rafferty of Worcester; eleven grandchildren: Cheryl Porter of Florida, Shannon Boyd of North Carolina, Robert P. Lamoureux and his wife Jessica of Connecticut, Jaclyn Lipkowski and her husband Brendan of New Jersey, Mary Anne Mastromatteo of New York, Michael Lamoureux and his fiancé Katelyn Gentile of Worcester, Nicole Mastromatteo of New York, Gianna Mastromatteo of Worcester, Anthony N. Mastromatteo of Shrewsbury, Dominic Mastromatteo of Worcester and Joshua Mastromatteo of Shrewsbury; three great grandchildren: Cayden Boyd of North Carolina, Nathan Mastromatteo of New York and Kathleen Lipkowski of New Jersey; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a daughter, Mary Anne Mastromatteo; three brothers, Lawrence, Michael and Frank Mastromatteo; three sisters, Nancy Inangelo, Mary Mastromatteo and Margaret Lloyd. Nicholas was born in Worcester, a son of the late Antonio and Dora (Manna) Mastromatteo and has lived here all his life. He worked as a laborer for Granger Contracting for thirty years before he retired in 1980. Nicholas was a member of Christ the King Church. He enjoyed gardening but the most important thing to him was being with his family, especially his grandchildren. Services for Nicholas will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 14th from 9:30-11:00 a.m. in the funeral home prior to his funeral Mass.
