Anaheim, CA - Normand Cabral 87, passed away on September 5, 2018 in Anaheim, California. Predeceased by his sister Rita Darcy of Westport, MA, his brother Robert of East Providence, RI., and a daughter Elizabeth. Normand is survived by his sister, Doris Hebert from Tallahassee, FL, and his former wife and mother of his children Barbara Flanagan from Enfield, CT. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and former second wife Marlene (Amaral) Cabral of Brazil.

Normand was born in Fall River Massachusetts on August 28, 1931 to Manuel and Adrienne (Garand) Cabral, and was the proud father of seven children; Michael of Hawaii, Maurice of Connecticut, Catherine of Massachusetts, Peter of Maryland, Charles of Massachusetts, and Thomas of Massachusetts.

He was a talented, charismatic unique individual, unforgettable to anyone his life touched. He remained active in retirement settling in Orange County California in 1998. He ushered at the Orange County Performing Arts Center and volunteered for 20 years, at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Anaheim, CA. Normand was a graduate of Assumption Prep School in Worcester, MA, attended Assumption College and graduated from Providence College. After serving in the United States Army stationed in Germany during the Korean War, he studied Foreign Trade and International Management at Thunderbird in Phoenix, Arizona. He earned an MBA and Masters in Hospital Administration from the University of Florida. Normand had a long and productive management career at The United Fruit Company in Honduras, Montgomery Ward in Albany, NY, and at Alexander Proudfoot Consulting. He also was employed with the consulting firm Syn-Cronamics Inc. of Englewood Cliffs, NJ, and held Administrator positions at Franklin County Public Hospital in Greenfield, MA and Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made on behalf of Normand to the general scholarship fund at Assumption College, 500 Salisbury St, Worcester, MA 01609.

A military burial in Beech Grove Cemetery in Westport, Massachusetts is planned.
