Thomas M. O'Brien, 77
WORCESTER - Thomas M. O'Brien, 77, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013 with his wife by his side. Tom leaves his loving wife, Mary A. (Lenz) O'Brien; four children, Thomas M. O'Brien, Jr. of Monson, Mark O'Brien of Jacksonville, FL, Colleen Beaulieu of Monson and James O'Brien of Pensacola, FL; two stepchildren, Thomas B. Steeves of Boston and Rebecca A. Steeves of Campton, NH; six grandchildren, Renee, Bridget, Sara, Michaela, Sienna and Isabelle and one great granddaughter; his sister, Constance Long of New London, CT; his brother, David O'Brien of Holyoke and many nieces and nephews. Tom's brother, John O'Brien of Portland, ME predeceased him in October 2001.
Tom was born in Macomb, IL, the son of Earl and Constance (Alikira) O'Brien. Tom attended Western New England College and graduated from Springfield Technical Community College. Tom was a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He worked for Fallon Community Health Plan as a sales executive in Senior Planning. Previously he worked for Digital Equipment Corporation as a long term planning analyst and Forbes-Wright, Inc. (formerly American Standard in Monson). Tom was a dedicated family man and will be missed dearly.
A visiting hour for Tom will be held on Wednesday, November 20th from 9:30 to 10:30 am followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St., West Boylston. Burial will be in High Plains Cemetery, West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jewish Healthcare Hospice, 629 Salisbury St., Worcester, MA 01609.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with Tom at Digital and we rode bikes together on the weekends. He was a great guy with a great sense of humor. I used to get recipes from him, too. Wow. You have my sympathies.
