Patricia Stevens, spouse of Jess Nadelman, mother of Sara and David, mother-in-law of Aracy and sister to Steve Sepaniak, Laura Valentine, Margaret Szczepaniak, Irene Kapsaskis, Jodie Crook, and Kate Vallee and spouse of Jess, died on Wednesday, May 26, 2010.
Pat will be remembered as the most generous and kind person those people who had the opportunity to cross her path ever knew. She wanted to be in show business from the age of 4 and worked as an actress and dancer on and off Broadway, in films and on television. Her true talent and genius both on and off stage was making people at ease through laughter. During the latter stages of her career, Pat found a calling in teaching acting and directing. She was particularly proud of her work with elementary and secondary education teachers, integrating art into the regular curriculum including science and history.
In the end Pat often said that her greatest achievement and joy were her children, Sara and David. Because of who she was and what she taught by example, Sara and David are strong, caring, and intellectually curious individuals who have found their niche in service to others.
Pat's family would like to thank the professional and kind caregivers at the UMass Levine Cancer Center, the UMass hospice team and the many people who have offered their help and prayers. We ask that in lieu of flowers you make a donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas TX 75265-0309. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden is assisting the family with private arrangements.

My dear friend Pat was literally the funniest person I ever knew. She effortlessly found her way, whether onstage or in daily conversation, through her special brand of originality and sass. She had the biggest heart and the most joyful smile. I just adored her, and still miss her so much.

I wish every stage manager, could have had a fabulous gal like Pat in a show! She made coming to work at the NY World's Fair, a labor of love! Although many years have passed since, I will never forget her great humor, talent and spirit! With heartfelt sympathy to her family, and many friends.

what a gal. We shared the stage at the NY World's Fair in the Dupont Pavillion. A comedian, dancer-singer, and a great pal to work with. To many years of separation, but I will always have fond rememberances of Pat.

Marie & I have reminisced a great deal this past week about the good discussions we had, our times together and the many, many laughs we shared with Pat (and you too Jess). She was special - her energy, love for her family and so full of life. We always left her company with a smile and a regret that we did not have more time to spend together. She will be sorely missed but long remembered by all who crossed her path. Marie & Jim Bellner (Phippsburg, ME)

We shared laughs, tears and family stories - regardless of what we did, I always knew I was with a friend like no other. I will miss Pat terribly and I feel so blessed to have known her. Jess, Sara and David, I hold you in my thoughts and prayers. Know that you have a very special angel watching over you.

I've met very few others in the performing arts world with as much compassion, humor and empathy as Pat. She was a fabulous human being who stayed anchored to the real world while dreaming of higher things.

We met for one reason and found we had many things in common. Pat lit up the room and had such a sharp wit. I will miss her and forever be thankful we met.

Pat was such a sketch and kept us laughing whenever we were together. She would light up our lives whenever she came to Bancroft School. What a loss to everyone who knew her - such a special person and friend. We will miss her terribly.

I'm so sorry to hear about the death of Pat. I know she struggled for a long time. I considered her a friend even though our only contact was at the Post Office. She will be missed. Corrine Puliafico

I will miss Pat so much. She has been a special part of my life for 46 years. She was the kindest person I ever met and she and I shared a common love for the arts and a wacky sense of humor.
I know Pat is in a better place now, free of pain, and watching over her family and friends.
