Carol E. Mann Cook, 79

Auburndale, FL / Charlton - Carol E. (Butler) Mann Cook, 79, formerly of Charlton, passed away on Wednesday, April 20th, in Lakeland, FL, after an illness.

Her first husband of 41 years, Ralph L. Mann, died in 1997.

She leaves her husband of 13 years, Walter N. Cook III; her son, Brett L. Mann and his wife Dorothy of Dudley; her daughter, Cheryl L Mann of Charlton; two stepdaughters, Dena Gregory and her husband Todd and Georgeann Husky and her husband Chris, all of Florida; her brother, Ronald H. Butler and his wife Ginny of Auburndale, FL; her sister, Joyce A. Langevin of Charlton; nine grandchildren, Michelle Ferguson Davis and her husband Benjamin, Laura Ferguson Anderson and her husband Keith, Jessica Resener and her husband Ben, Angelique Carter, Monique Rousseau, Alec Husky, Athan Husky, Kyle Gregory, and Katherin Gregory; 13 great grandchildren, Brayden, Elijah, Ella, Tyler, Zachary, Cole, Tristen, Jose, Keren, Rickie, Jayden, Trevor and Jase; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Butler. Carol was born in Charlton the daughter of Stephen and Olive C. (Prouty) Butler.

Carol worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the Masonic Home in Charlton, retiring many years ago. Prior to that she was a secretary for CPC Engineering, United Lens, several years at Shepherd Hill Regional High School as secretary to the Superintendant. Carol also raised her family well, did all the bookkeeping for Mann Bros. Garage, coached Lassie League, and served as a den mother for the Cub Scouts, and entertained many friends and family over the years. In retirement she enjoyed family, friends, traveling , crossword word puzzles and her beautiful retirement home with Walter in Auburndale, Florida, as well as their summer camp in Thompson, CT, where she enjoyed mini-trips throughout New England visiting family and friends up North.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, April 29th, 10:00am in the Charlton City United Methodist Church, 74 Stafford St., Charlton. Burial in West Ridge Cemetery, Charlton, will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, will be held on Thursday, April 28th, from 6:00 to 8:00pm.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Suite 800, Washington, DC 20004.
