Guy Miller HOGAN Obituary
HOGAN, Guy MillerWent to meet his Savior on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the age of 71. Guy was a graduate of Greenwood High School in Greenwood, Mississippi where he was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He also graduated from Mississippi State University before entering the Army where he served his country in Japan from 1961-1965. Guy's professional career was spent as a manufacturer's representative for 38 years. He retired in 2002 as president and owner of the L. E. Offutt Company, Inc. Guy was an active member of Brentwood Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, a greeter on Sunday mornings, and attended the Baptist Children's Home Tuesday Morning Bible Study. Before coming to Brentwood Baptist, he taught Sunday School and R.A.'s at Belmont Heights Baptist Church as well as serving as a deacon. Guy was also a member of the Brentwood Lions Club and American Legion Post 156. He truly loved his family - parents, sisters, children and his five grandchildren who loved and adored him. Preceded in death by his younger sister Janice Hogan Allen. Guy is survived by Garnette D. Hogan, his wife of 43 years; son and daughter-in-law, Guy Miller Hogan II and Heidi; daughter, Carrie Hogan Lunsford; grandchildren, Katherine Lee Hogan, Patrick Gregory Hogan, Nathaniel Thomas Hogan, Devin Scott Lunsford and Jaden Lynn Lunsford; sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Lee Austin of Gulfport, MS; one niece and three nephews. Dr. Mike Glenn and Gayle Haywood will conduct a Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2010 at Brentwood Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Honorary Pallbearers are the Early Risers Sunday School Class, the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home Tuesday Morning Bible Study Group, the Brentwood Lions Club and the American Legion Post 156.
