Barbara passed away peacefully on March 13, 2014 with her devoted husband Bard by her side. They were married 67 years.

She was born on April 23, 1923 in Minneapolis, MN. Barbara is predeceased by her parents, Jeannie Douglas McKenzie Paul and Norman McLeod Paul.

She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Paul Welsh of Orlando, FL; and her children, Bard Quillman, Jr. (Nancy) of Franklin, TN, Jane Quillman Spears (Bob) of Nashville, TN and Catherine Quillman Kelly (Mike) of Nashville, TN. Barbara and Bard were blessed with four grandchildren: Lisa Quillman Coviello (Dave) of Brentwood, TN, Sara Quillman Lyman (Stewart) of Houston, TX, Megan Kelly of Boston, MA and Bickham Kelly of Nashville, TN. They were also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Tucker Lyman and Charles Lyman.

Barbara attended Cornell University where she was a member of Alpha Phi sorority. After graduating from Tobe Coburn School of Fashion and Merchandising, she was assistant buyer for Lord and Taylor in New York until her marriage in 1945.

Barbara was an active member of St. George's Episcopal Church and a board member of The Friends of Cheekwood and the Symphony Guild. She was also a member of the Junior League of Nashville and The Wednesday Book Club (which meets on Thursdays). She was a voracious and eclectic reader. Her other interests included duplicate bridge and golf as her health permitted. Barbara loved Nashville and felt it was a great blessing to live in such a beautiful and gracious city.

The family will have a private Memorial Service at St. George's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Tailored For Education @
