Flo worked for a legal firm in Austin, Texas where she met her love and best friend Joe Lewis Worden. They were married December 9, 1944, and they had three wonderful sons, Richard, Jimmy and Bill. Her husband became the athletic trainer at Vanderbilt, and Flo became a dedicated fan to Vanderbilt football, basketball and baseball. In the early days, Flo regularly attended basketball games at David Lipscomb College prior to the construction of Memorial Gym. Flo worked as an administrative assistant in the Mathematics Department at Vanderbilt University
for 21 years where she made many lifelong friends. She was a long-time member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she served as chairperson of the Calvary Book Circle for 12 years and delivered meals to those in need for more than 20 years. These two faithful friends helped Flo countless ways throughout the years and were always at her side when she needed them, giving her joy, comfort, and peace of mind.
