Hurley "Allison" Gourley
Hurley "Allison" Gourley was born on February 14, 1932 and passed away peacefully on May 23, 2014.
Allison was an avid card player and enjoyed his Skip bo card club. He retired after 35 years of work at Textron Aerostructures. He was a lifetime member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a proud Air Force Veteran. Allison was a father who loved his daughters and their family unconditionally.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wilkes Gourley, and son-in-law, Ronnie Swafford.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Amy Mullins (Pat) and Janet Puhl (Gregg); grandchildren, Joey Swafford (Amanda), Chris Swafford (Jessica), Holly Swafford, Christopher L. Hunter II, Brittany Puhl, Demi Puhl, Becky Swafford, Johnnie Swafford (Susan); great-grandchildren, Bentlee, Aubrey, Xavier, MaKenzie, Brooklyn, and a host of other family.
The family would like to recognize Pennington Place and staff for their outstanding quality of care and the lifelong friendships that were made.
Active Pallbearers will be Joey Swafford, Christopher L. Hunter II, Johnnie Swafford, Larry Salyers, Dr. Scott Jordan, and Jimmy Carter.
Honorary Pallbearers are Gregg Puhl and Pat Mullins.
A Life Celebration ceremony will be conducted on Monday May, 26, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be held on Monday from 10-2 p.m.
