Kenneth E. NICHOLS



NICHOLS, Kenneth E. Age 56 of Emlenton, Rockland Township, PA, formerly of Tennessee, died Friday morning, August 23, 2013, due to injuries he sustained from a workplace accident in Clarion. Born March 20, 1957 in Madison, TN, he was the son of the late Daniel T. and Mable B. Cole Nichols. He graduated from Neely's Bend High School in Tennessee, and then served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Franklin V.F.W. Ken volunteered as a coach for the Cranberry Little League, Girls Softball, and served as a leader for Cub Scout Pack 123. He was of the Catholic faith. Ken enjoyed antique cars, repairing and selling four-wheelers and motorcycles; and above all, loved his family and his grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with them. He especially enjoyed BMX track bicycling with his grandchildren. Mr. Nichols worked for Franklin Steel for seventeen years. He was currently employed as a mechanical maintenance technician by Clarion Industries. He was married in Franklin on November 27, 1975 to the former Carol A. Rodibaugh, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Liza Manross and husband Jerry, Kenneth Nichols, Jr. and wife Amanda, James Nichols and wife Stacey, Brittney Nichols and fiance' Colten Webster all of Rockland; 10 grandchildren, Dasan, Dakotah, Dallas, Zach, Zoey, Zaylee, Zander, Kelsey, Kayden and Mavrick. He is also survived by five sisters, Linda White, Becky Davenport, Nancy Alcorn, Imogene Edmonds and husband Roy, and Teresa Baker all of Tennessee; his mother and father-in-law, Shirley and Robert Rodibaugh of Cranberry, whom he thought of as his own parents; his brothers and sisters-in-law including Shari Norris of President, Cathy Rodibaugh, William Rodibaugh, Mary Van Wormer and fiance Dave Tobin all of Cranberry, Barbara Heckathorn and fiance' Rick Van Wormer of Venus, and Robert Rodibaugh, Jr. of Emlenton; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Harold Nichols and Raymond Daniel Nichols; four brothers-in-law, Charles White, Lee Davenport, Frank Alcorn and Carl Caldwell. Friends will be received on Monday, August 26, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Rockland Cemetery.
