WOMACK, William Gilliam (Bill)Age 74 of Nashville, TN, passed away March 10, 2013 from complications of a stroke. Born August 14, 1938 in Pelham, TN, he was the son of the late Alice Gilliam Womack and Junius Vernon Womack of Pelham, TN. He is survived by sisters, Mary Joe Taylor (Bob) of Cleveland, OH, Sheila Womack of Cleveland, OH and brother, Bruce Womack of Meridian, MS; wife, Carolyn (Lynn); sons, John B. Womack of Dallas, TX and William G. Womack, Jr. (Gina) of Vienna, VA; and daughter, Anne Womack Kolton (Chad) of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Andrew Womack, Kristen Womack, Jack Kolton, Kate Kolton and Lucy Kolton, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kay Womack. He graduated from Grundy County High School, The University of the South at Sewanee, TN, and Suffolk University Law School, Boston, MA. He practiced law in Nashville for many years. He was dedicated to the service of the United States of America, serving as a member of the U. S. Navy Reserve for over 27 years, retiring with the rank of Commander. He served in a number of active duty stations, both in the United States and abroad, and was the recipient of the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Joint Service Commendation Medal. Gardening, history and telling stories of the "old" days were his favorite past times. He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, Nashville. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 13th from 5 to 7 p.m., at St. Henry Church. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, March 14th at 11 a.m., at St. Henry Church, Rev. Michael Johnston, Pastor, presiding. Burial will be at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, McCrory Lane.
