Norman Hall Obituary

Norman Eugene Hall

Brentwood, TN

Norman Eugene Hall passed away on December 15, 2016.

He was a devoted father and husband.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Margaret Wright Hall, children Robin R. Hammers (Steve) & Christopher C. Hall (Wendy) and four grandsons, Ryan Hammers, Justin Hammers, Barrett Hall and Blake Hall.

Norman was originally from Richmond, VA but moved to Tennessee in 1964. He graduated from the Richmond Professional Institute of the Colleges of William and Mary.

He began his career in real estate appraisal at the property assessor's office of Hanover County, VA when he was 16 years old. After working through college, he joined Tobin Rountrey & Associates, an appraisal firm in Richmond in charge of assessing property for various counties. This job first took him to Cleveland, TN then on to Nashville in 1965. He started his own company Norman Hall & Associates in 1970. He held many different designations including the SRA and MAI from the Appraisal Institute. He served on various boards with many organizations through the years. Norman also served in the military in the Air Force.

His love for his family was first in his life. He enjoyed many activities such as deep sea fishing, golf, and attending football games.

A celebration of life will be held at Richland Country Club on Tuesday, January 3, 2016 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to The Greater Tennessee Chapter of the Appraisal Institute's LDAC fund. LDAC is a program that strives to foster creative thought from talented individuals involved in the real estate appraisal profession while developing future leaders of the Appraisal Institute, an endeavor that was very near and dear to Mr. Hall's heart.

Checks may be made out to the Greater TN Chapter of the Appraisal Institute (GTCAI) and sent to PO Box 120276, Nashville, TN 37211.

Unquestioned honesty and integrity, deep abiding love for his family, a tremendous contribution to the entire appraisal profession and an overall love of life; just some the traits of the man, who always had time for people and could always be counted on for a good story. Norman is one of a kind. He will be sorely missed by all.
