Mary our thoughts are with you and your family. My Dad is the same age and I know how blessed I have been too, raised in a wonderful Christian home, lots of love. But as we know Heaven is a better place.

Mary, I just saw the newspaper this morning late about the loss of your dear father. Words escape me as to what to say . . . . I lost my own father three years ago and can empathize with your feelings as well as sympathize. You and your brother are fine examples of your father's (and mother's) raising, and he was a role model in many ways. You should be proud of his influence on you and other family members. So very sorry I cannot attend the services today for many reasons but truly wish you know how much I would like to be there and see the family. Please stay in touch as I would enjoy hearing from you.
Fondly, Connie Overbey Luttrell

Few people have had more impact on my personal and professional life than Charlie. His office across the hall from mine made me a target for many unexpected visits. The serendipity of those visits gave birth to more teaching moments than I could list. He was patient with my ingorance, supportive of my out of the box ideas, and quick to celebrate a success. A tease took the sting out of my failures.
Some of those serendipity visits were stories of what was going on with Edna, Richard, Mary Lea, Mary, Mike and the grandchildren. I am grateful those visits led me to have a relationaship with them as well.
To them and all of us who were touched by Charlie's life, I share in celebrating the gifts we received from him and in this loss.

Mr. Roselle was my FIRST boss (along with Ed Rollins)when I came out of Belmont college. I started work with the National Student Ministries department in January 1978. I was such a fledgling and unsure employee, but Mr. Roselle's joy and laughter quickly put me at ease. I am grateful for his good will and wit as I learned the ropes in student ministry. May God walk with the Roselle family in this time of loss.

Richard, Mary Lea, Christine and Charles--my prayers go to you in the loss of Charles.... What a grand life he lived and what great JOY he had and showed other how to have... I will always remember his "stare downs" and always waited for the comments that would follow.... How blessed you are to have such wonderful parents that everyone loves and the memories of you day will now live on for a long time in each of us. Rejoice in the love that he shared and we can all keep in memories.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have been involved in BSU College Student Work at Mississippi State University for over 40 years. For many years, my husband and I saw your parents at Student Week at Glorieta. Charles Roselle did much to highlight and help Southern Baptist see student work as a crucial ministry and to see the potential to reach the world for Christ through college students.
