Roger Sledd Obituary

Rev. Roger Sledd

Nashville, TN

Rev. Roger B. Sledd, son of the late Frank W. Sledd and Elizabeth Clay Sledd, passed away on April 14, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Debra L. Gentry; daughters, Mary Whitney Thuell-Sledd of Washington, D.C., Lindsey Clay Thuell-Sledd of Sonoma, CA; and twin brother, Thomas Clay Sledd of Brandon, FL.

A graduate of Rollins College and the University of Kentucky Law School, Roger practiced law in Lexington, KY for 25 years before attending Vanderbilt University Divinity School and entering the ministry of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ, where he served churches in Arkansas, Western Kentucky and Tennessee. In later years, he enjoyed playing golf with the West Side Group, who will serve as honorary Pallbearers.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 21 at Vine Street Christian Church with a reception immediately following the service at the church.
