I had the privilege to know Dr. Barton through the Brucellosis days, while I was at the Texas Animal Health Commission. Dr. Barton was always so kind and warm. He was gift, and we were so lucky to know and work with him.

Prayers for comfort for all the family. Know that God needed him at the Rainbow Bridge!

Dr. Barton was one of my father's closest friends. Their mutual interests from the Air National Guard to gardening, a love for fiddle music, and H.G.'s BBQ provided many years of fun for all that were around them. Barbara and Claude were always their with a smile to support whatever was going on. No doubt, Claudius (as dad called him) and dad are back together talking gardening with Claude showing him how to properly prune the trees:)
Barbara, our prayers are with you and your family.
Love,
Howard & Susan

I have great memories from my childhood knowing Mr. Barton. He was always so sweet and caring. We used to have church parties at their house and one that stands out was the one where everyone dressed in costumes. We have a blast and Barbara was a hoot. They were always the perfect couple. My prayers are with you Barbara and girls. He will be truly missed. God Bless.

While my heart breaks for Barbara, Kathy, Becky and Nancy, there's comfort in knowing he's well again, and in the arms of our Heavenly Father. I'm so glad I got to meet him and spend even a short time with both Barbara and him after church. You're all in my prayers during this time. Sending you hugs.

Seeing Dr. Barton's obit brought back many memories. Good ones too. I was his secretary at the USDA and he was a wonderful boss. Always the gentleman. Never raised his voice. I wish I could attend his memorial service but I am in NJ for a few weeks. Condolences to Barbara and family.
