PACKARD, Ann Mary RittenhouseAge 86. Passed away on April 21, 2013 after a long illness. She is survived by sons, Peter (Mary), John, Richard (Phyllis), Robert (Linda), Louis (Toni) and William (Maureen); brother, Thomas Rittenhouse; grandchildren include Taylor, Ross, Ryan, Carlee, Cecilia, William, Samuel and Sarah Packard. She is preceded in death by husband of 37 years, Hermann D. Packard; her parents; five brothers and sisters. Ann was born January 29, 1927 in Chicago, IL and moved to Philadelphia at a young age. There, she attended and graduated from Mater Misericordiae Academy. It was in Philadelphia that she met her future husband, Hermann, and was married July 1, 1949. They then settled in to the work of raising their 6 sons. They traipsed the country from Virginia to California, to Massachusetts to Pennsylvania, Georgia, and finally to Tennessee in 1971. After moving to Brentwood, she successfully opened and operated Ann Packard and Associates, where she sold fabrics and wallcoverings. She was a faithful parishioner and participant at St. Philip Catholic Church in Franklin. Ann touched the lives of many and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and caregiver who enjoyed "playing" house, drawing, painting and gardening. On Wednesday, April 24, 2013 there will be a Rosary at 9:30 a.m., visitation from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon, followed immediately by a Funeral Mass, all at St. Philip Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Philip Catholic Church, 113 Second Ave. S., Franklin, TN 37064; or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in her name.
