Doris Ann LOCKWOOD Obituary

LOCKWOOD, Doris Ann RowlettePassed away quietly at her Franklin home on Wednesday morning, May 15, 2013. Celebration of Life Services were conducted on Friday, May 17th at the Historic Downtown Presbyterian Church, located at Five Points in Franklin. Mrs. Lockwood was laid to rest beside her husband at Mount Hope Cemetery. Born June 25, 1927, she was the daughter of Andrew Vernon and Eunice Lester Rowlette. She was born and spent her childhood in Rutherford County. Doris moved to Williamson County, after her marriage to Dexter Lockwood in 1943, and dedicated her life as a loving wife of 52 years, a mother and a homemaker. Always a farm girl at heart, she never outgrew her love for the countryside, gardening, cooking and lending a helping hand. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene Rowlette and Roscoe Clemons; her sisters, Aileen Stem and Mary Frances Stem; and husband, Murlin Dexter Lockwood. She is survived by her daughter, Kaye Lockwood of Franklin; her granddaughter, Courtney Hood of Green Hills; and faithful caregivers, Carolyn Bandy and Lisa Dotson. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to all the Guardian Hospice Associates for their genuine kindness and concern throughout the last eighteen months. Condolences to HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME-FRANKLIN, (615) 472-8581.
