Dustin KRUTHAUPT Obituary
KRUTHAUPT, Dustin JamesAge 19, died Saturday, June 15 in Katy, Texas while swimming. Dustin was born June 4, 1994 in Nashville, Tennessee. He attended Scales Elementary and Brentwood Middle in Brentwood, Tennessee and Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville before relocating with his family to Katy, Texas in 2008. He continued his education at Seven Lakes High School where he excelled at football as a three year letterman, and in theater where he participated in productions and as a member of the select Comedy Sportz team. Dustin was nominated as a contender for Mr. Seven Lakes by his classmates. His wit and humor, coupled with his kind heart and friendly nature, made him a favorite with students and teachers. Dustin graduated from Seven Lakes High School on June 8 and planned to attend The University of Alabama this fall and major in Economics. Dustin leaves his loving family with broken hearts, his parents, Nick and Diane (Pennington) Kruthaupt; and his older brothers, Chris and Brad. He also leaves his grandmother, Lou Pennington, of Memphis and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends from Tennessee and Texas. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Bern and Pat Kruthaupt and Harold Pennington. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 20th at Canale Funeral Directors, 2700 Union Ave Extended in Memphis. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 21st at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, located at 4851 Park Ave in Memphis. Father Tim Kruthaupt will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Memphis. A memorial celebration of Dustin's life will be held at Seven Lakes High School in Katy, Texas at a time and date to be determined. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Seven Lakes High School Theater Dept and Comedy Sportz Team in Dustin's memory. 9251 South Fry Rd, Katy, TX 77494. I can only surmise that God felt Dustin's work here on earth was completed and he needed an "Angel Guard" in Heaven! May comfort come to all that knew this outstanding young person! RIP Dustin!

I met Dustin in the second semester of my senior year, my last semester of high school. He was in my speech class. Dustin was awesome; he was funny, personable and honest. We worked on a speech project on a high school we had to make up. Dustin was the overlooking superintendent of Yolo High School while I was the principal. I can't remember any of his individual speeches, but I believe he gave his inspiring person speech on either his father or one of his brothers. Anyway, Dustin lived his life in a way where he had fun most of the time and enjoyed it. I didn't know him for very long, but I feel like I got to know him fairly well considering we only spent 50 minutes a day with each other. My last time seeing him was when I visited during Christmas Break last year. I just asked him how he was and how his year had been going. I'm going to miss him, but I'm truly blessed to have been able to know him, even if it was only for a short time. I offer my condolences for your loss.
