I first met Scott when we both started at George Williams College, Downers Grove, IL (I was a Junior-transfer and he was a Freshman). He had a bright smile that lit up a room. I had lost touch with him after I graduated and was sorry to hear about his death later. He will be remembered.

Sorry Scotty, Idid not relize how sick you really were or I would have stayed in touch more often. But after spending time with you playing chess and talking about spiritural things, I know you made peace with God and you are now in the right place. (Knoxville, TN)

Dear Frank and Ann, I am so sorry for your loss. I took the Journey of Hope training class with you both in Nashville a number of years ago. When the first article ran in the News Sentinel where a body had been found I hoped it was not your son. But I immediately thought of you both. I am so sorry that our state has failed your family, Rhonda Luebke (Knoxville, TN)

To Scotty's family --
You have lost an admirable, intelligent, and accomplished young man in this terrible tragedy. Your efforts in his behalf have been extensive. Please know that others will reap the benefit of the seeds you have planted and will go on to continue your good deeds. As long-time mental health advocates, it must compound your grief, knowing that there were resources like PACT but no way for Scotty to avail himself of that service. I have a new commitment for advocacy because you shared your story. My deepest sympathy to both you and Ann. Scotty sounds like an amazing person whom I would have liked to have known. I pray he is at peace now.

Please accept my profound sympathy for your family as you grieve the loss of your son. Because of your outspoken advocacy, his life continues to be honored and valued, even by people who will never know him, because you tell his story.

So sorry for your loss. I was a case manager for many years. I understand the importance of case management and other outpatient services which are essential for those living in the community. I do not believe that the cuts will ever end. Scotty was blessed to have a caring and supportive family. God Bless you and your family during this difficult time.

My sincere condolences and sympathy for your loss.
Thanks for standing up and speaking out about the
Tenn Care cuts in the obituary and on TV. We need more people to speak out, who have suffered such loss, to help stop so many dying before their time because they couldn't get or afford proper health care.

I am sorry about the loss of your son. My sister suffered from the same illness which began when she was about 24 years old. She was in and out of the hospital, trying to get her medicine adjusted. She had a wonderful husband who stood by her. When she was 40 years old, she committed suicide. It's a terrible illness and I'm sorry your family suffered this tragedy.
