Georgiana McCONNELL Obituary

McCONNELL, Georgiana T. Age 86 of Nashville, TN, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012. She was loved by her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her sister, Eva Lassie Russell. She is survived by her sister & brother-in-law, Betty & Shelton Pilkinton; nephews, Bob & Steve (Cindy) Russell, & Jim (Connie) Pilkinton; niece, Claudia (John) Enberg; along with 4 great nephews & 7 great nieces. Flying was Georgiana's passion. She received her pilot's license at age nineteen. She was a member of the Civil Air Patrol & a member of the "99s", an international organization of licensed women pilots. She raced in many competitions, such as the Powder Puff Derby, Skylady Derby & Petticoat Derby. We, her family & friends, know that she is at peace & now has her permanent wings. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 18th from 2 to 3 p.m., at Vine Street Christian Church, with a Memorial service following.
