MANNING, Jerald W.Age 64, passed away peacefully at his residence at 10:02 a.m., Monday, May 2, 2011. Born in Bowling Green, KY on June 30, 1946. Retired Vice-President/General Manager of Castner-Knott, Famous Barr and Macy's Department stores after 41 years of loyal service. Member and Elder of First Christian Church, past Deacon and Chairman of the Board; Member and past President of the BG Noon Rotary Club; board member Housing Authority of BG; board member The Historic Railpark, L & N Depot; Ambassador of BG/WC Chamber of Commerce; past Director Kids on the Block; past Chairman of Capitol Arts Alliance; past Chairman Southern Kentucky Book Festival; past board member BG Area Convention & Visitor Bureau; loyal supporter of Relay for Life and MS Society of Louisville; avid WKU Hilltopper fan and member Hilltopper Athletic Foundation; proud 1999 graduate of WKU. Veteran of U. S. Army having served in Germany 1965-1968. Preceded in death by father, J. Guy Manning; mother, Edwina Dyer Manning. Visitation Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m., at J.C. Kirby and Sons Lovers Lane Funeral Chapel, 820 Lovers Lane, Bowling Green, KY 42103 and Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., at First Christian Church, 1106 State St., Bowling Green, KY. Services Thursday, May 5, 2011 at 2 p.m., at First Christian Church, Bowling Green. Family chose Cremation. Survivors: wife, Jane; daughters, Christina (Matthew) Isbell, Erin Manning, both of Mt. Juliet, TN; granddaughters, Anna Claire Isbell, Samantha Jane Isbell of Mt. Juliet, TN; nephews, Jeffrey Wright (Kelly) of Seattle, WA, Bill Pratt of Boerne, TX, Joshua (Celeste) Pratt of Ft. Worth, TX, Dane Wiseheart of Mooresville, NC; 1 brother, Jim Manning of Tampa, FL; 1 sister, Nancy (Jeff) Wiseheart of Mooresville, NC; brother-in-law, Dan (Nancy) Pratt of Boerne, TX; father and mother-in-law, Bill (Margaret) Pratt of Springfield, TN; numerous cousins.
