Jim McINTEER Obituary

McINTEER, Jim BillAge 88 of Nashville, TN, born June 16, 1921 and went home to be with the Lord March 8, 2010. Preceded in death by wife, Betty May Bergner McInteer. Bro. McInteer's home congregation was West End Church of Christ. He was currently serving Neely's Bend and Heritage Churches of Christ. Survived by children, Mike & MariLynn (McInteer) Canterbury and Mark & Melinda (Thurman) McInteer; grandchildren, Matthew and Heather (Brooks) McInteer, Zach and Martha Lynn (McInteer) Crawford, and Seth McInteer; great grandchildren, Brooks William McInteer, Cash Henry McInteer & Camille May Crawford. Jim Bill began preaching at Whites Creek, TN in 1939. He attended Lipscomb University and Harding University. He served Churches of Christ in Sheridan, AR, Isabel, KS, Locust Grove, KY, Grace Avenue & West End in Nashville, TN; and conducted Gospel Meetings worldwide. He served as President and Publisher of 21st Century Christian and Power for Today and was on the Board of Directors for Harding University, Searcy, AR and Potter Children's Home, Bowling Green, KY. He was the Recipient of Distinguished Alumnus Award, Harding University, Searcy, AR; Recipient of Alumnus of the Year, David Lipscomb College; Recipient of "Distinguished Christian Service Award," Pepperdine University, Recipient of Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree, Harding University; Recipient of Honorary Doctor of Humanities, Oklahoma Christian USA. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 2-9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 10, 2010 from 12-2 p.m., at Brentwood Hills Church of Christ. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 2 p.m., at Brentwood Hills Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jim Bill and Betty McInteer Scholarship Fund at Harding University. WOODBINE FUNERAL HOME, HICKORY CHAPEL Directors, 615-331-1952. Still Family Owned
