BRANTLEY, Joe M. July 20, 1929 - June 25, 2012. Following a long illness, Joe went home to be with the Lord he had served so faithfully. After growing up in the Nashville area, he briefly attended Carson Newman College. Upon his return from service with the Marine Corps in Korea, he attended and graduated from Belmont College. He worked with Broadman Press for eight years and then moved to Sandoz Pharmaceuticals where he worked for thirty-one years. During those years, he was part of a small, dedicated group of people who founded Brentwood Baptist Church. Besides being a charter member of the church, he was instrumental in organizing the Prayer Ministry of Brentwood Church. He served faithfully as an intercessor until the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Mike (Carol) and Lynne; and by countless friends that he loved and who loved him. A Celebration of Life service will be held 1 p.m. at Otter Creek Church of Christ on Friday, June 29, 2012. Visitation with the family will be at the church from 11 a.m. up until the time of service. A private graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Friends and Family will serve as Active Pallbearers. Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers include his Sunday school class, Dr. Antonio Granda, Dr. Ray Hester, Dr. Vito Rocco and Dr. John Warner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tennessee Baptist Children's Home (Franklin campus) or to Brentwood Baptist Church Prayer Ministry.
