John William 'Bill' Irvin

Crossville, TN

Bill Irvin, age 85 of Crossville, TN, left this world for a more beautiful one, on December 2, 2013 at his home in Lake Tansi Village. He was surrounded by loving family. Bill was born on March 8, 1928 in Sumter, SC. He was raised in Nashville, TN and graduated from Duncan College Preparatory School for Boys.

Bill served in the United States Army. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner. Bill was an avid golfer and constant 'doer'. He loved making new friends and sharing his stories of wit and wisdom. He was an active member of Tansi Community Church.

Bill is survived by his wife, Betty, of 59 years, and daughters, Stephanie, Amy, and Celeste; grandchildren, David, Jaret, Tyler and Holly; great grandchildren, Davis and Marley; brother, R.E. "Jack" Irvin; and son-in-law, Bill Scholz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R.E. "Jack" and Lynne Irvin.

A memorial service will be held at Tansi Community Church in Crossville, TN on Tuesday, December 10th at 2 p.m. with Dr. Paul Dixon officiating. Family will receive friends at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be sent to Hospice of Cumberland County.
