POWELL, Kenneth Richard April 17, 2013. Preceded in death by Kathleen Owen Powell, his wife of 65 years; brothers David, Delmar, Roger, and Harry, Jr.; he is survived by his children, Kathy Summers, Kenna Eaton, Kevin Powell, Kara White and their spouses; eight grandchildren; brother, J. William Powell and sister, Kathleen Goodhart. Mr. Powell was a graduate of Furman University, Pratt Art Institute and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a B-17 pilot and POW during World War II. Mr. Powell spent his professional career in the art department of the Baptist Sunday School Board (now LifeWay). He was a longtime member of First Baptist Nashville where there will be a service celebrating his life on Thursday, April 25th at 10 a.m., after visitation beginning 8:30 a.m. A 1 p.m. burial will follow at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
