MARLATT, Mildred Christine KempAge 89, went home to her Lord on March 5, 2013. She was born July 23, 1923, in Carthage, TN, later moving to Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cordis Luster Kemp and Vera Virginia West Kemp; her husband of 42 years, Rolla Mahlon Marlatt, Sr., Major, US Army retired; her son, Richard Douglas Marlatt; and her brother, William Douglas Kemp. She is survived by son, Rolla Mahlon Marlatt, Jr. (Jean) of Lutz, FL; grandsons, Ryan Patrick Marlatt of Lutz, FL and Andrew Christopher Marlatt (Donna) of Wesley Chapel, FL; great-grandsons, Trenton Christopher Marlatt and Tyler Christopher Marlatt of Wesley Chapel, FL; sister-in-law, Mildred Harris Kemp of Nashville, TN; niece, Helen Kay Kemp of Nashville, TN; nephew, Jack Douglas Kemp of Nashville, TN; nephew, James P. Tyler, Jr. (Lois) of San Marcos, TX. Mildred enjoyed sharing memories of living in Japan, France, and many cities in the U.S., courtesy of her husband's career in the U.S. Army. Mildred retired as Budget Director with the Engineer Combat Development Command at Fort Belvoir, VA in 1977, when she and her husband moved to Dunedin, FL. She was an active member of The Kirk in Dunedin for many years. She moved to Lutz, FL in 2011 and enjoyed being a member of Exciting Idlewild Baptist Church. She loved her family, and always selflessly put their needs ahead of her own. She faced life's challenges boldly, and was a strong role model for her family and all who knew her. She will be greatly missed until our sweet reunion with her in the presence of the Lord. Funeral services will take place Monday, March 11, 2013 at 11 a.m., at Idlewild Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
