Hi Helga and Andrea, I always hold my friend, Sofia close to my heart and think of you often. She continues to inspire me with her love and passion for life. So many things remind me of our short time together.... the pottery of hers I have in my office, cicadas, fried. chicken, positive attitudes... I consider myself blessed that God had our paths cross in this temporary season... I love you.

You are unforgettable Sofia.... I remember when you rolled right out of your house down your street to Woodmont and went all the way down to White Bridge Road at Harding! Not a pebble in my memory but a boulder! I miss you so much... You will never know how much you impacted everyone's life you crossed paths with...

Sofia left an incredible legacy of living and leaving. Her parting is a difficult time for all of us who loved her, more so for her family who also natured her. May each of you gently wrap yourself in the warm memories of Sofia and let the love that held you so close continue to bring you strength and comfort.

Sofia, I will miss you, and the world will miss you. Thank you for being my friend, and my fan. I will never forget your encouragement of me and my writing, even when you were undergoing so much of your own struggle. A light has not gone out- we will keep it lit for you in our remembrance of you. So much love.

I've only met Sofia a couple of times, through her father Andrea, a professor at Vanderbilt University, so I did not know her well. After today's celebration of Sofia's life however, I heard so many beautiful things that I wish I had known her. Thank you Andrea and Helga for the wonderful person you brought into this world. She lives on!

I will miss you Sofia, so very much, as will everyone who ever past you in life. You breathed fresh air into my lungs and gave me strength every time we talked or were together. Now you are at peace and the memories you left behind will always be with us.

Sophia's life will not be measured by the years she shared with the world but by her courage and spirit and by the love and respect she inspired and will continue to inspire. Our hearts hurt for you and we pray that you will be conforted.

Sofia, thank you for sharing your life with me. You really enriched my life knowing you. My mind is flooded with memories of things you said and experiences you had. The last time you took off you got as far as the store before you were apprehended. Didn't you call your best friend growing up rotten banana head? Oh if those walls could talk... they'd know how hard you tried to convert me from a conservative republican who uses plastic bags and wastes electricity... I'm going to miss your raw, honest humor and those poignant loving moments... I miss you so much already. I wish you were here to counsel me... Your tumbling pebble made a big splash in my heart. I'm never going to be the same without you.
