MILLER, Thomas "Tommy" Maurice Age 49. Died August 8, 2009 at his residence. A native of Athens and resident of Nashville for 7 years and former resident of Calhoun, GA, a son of the late Fred Foster and Glenna Cate Miller. A 1977 graduate of McMinn County High School, he later received his Doctorate of Pharmacology and later earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He also earned his Jurist Doctorate Degree from Southern Illinois University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard and was of the Baptist faith. At the time of his death he served as Assistant General Counsel for the State of Tennessee Dept. of Health. He was also General Counsel for the State of Tennessee Board of Dentistry and Medical Licensing Board and a member of the Tennessee Bar Association. Survived by wife, Tawn Nhan Miller of Nashville; daughter, Emily Earnest of Nashville; son, Benjamin Earnest of Nashville; three sisters; two brothers-in-laws; three brothers; two sisters-in-law; father-in-law; mother-in-law, Pai and Mui Nhan of San Diego, CA; four brothers-in-law. Funeral services 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy McCarter officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Ziegler Funeral Home, Athens, TN.
