CARR, Virgil James Edward Age 87 of Nashville. Elder of The church of Christ at Jackson Street, retiree of the Ford Motor Co. Glass Plant, beloved husband and father, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 22, 2011. Preceded in death by son, Thomas Eugene Carr. Survived by beloved wife, Mary League Carr; children, Virgil (Mary) Jr., Donnell (Christine), Samuel, Edward and Harrold (Janus) Carr, Mary (Quave') Smith, Peggy (Douglas) Hunter, Ethel (Michael) Crowder, Frances Fitzgerald; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 5 sisters, 1 brother; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a myriad of dear friends. Elder Carr will repose in the Sanctuary of the Church of Christ, 1408 Jackson Street, for viewing Friday, January 28th from 1 till 6 p.m. The Carr Family will receive friends Saturday, January 29th from 10:30 a.m. till 11:45 a.m., in the Keeble Memorial Fellowship Hall of the church. Funeral Rites will commence at the chiming of the hour of Twelve Noon in the Sanctuary, conducted by Dr. Michael Crowder, Minister.
