JOHNSON, William Donald "Bill"Age 70, a resident of Tallassee, AL, died March 17, 2009. He was born May 14, 1938. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009 at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Camp Hill, AL, with Rev. Richard Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. He is survived by a sister, Patty Bridges; sons, William Donald Robin Johnson, Jr. and Brandon Jarrod Johnson (Amy); stepsons, Kyle Carpenter (Robyn) and Chris Mack; nieces, Jonette Munger (Richard) and Christina Kieffer (Eric); and grandchildren, Matthew & Caleb Carpenter, and Parker Johnson. Bill was a songwriter and musician, whose career in country music spanned 58 years. He played steel guitar for artists such as Red Sovine, George Jones and Marty Robbins.
