"Ruby-Do" Was a dear friend that I got to work with in the 60's as a "Tennessee M t. Boy" with Johnnie Wright and Kitty Wells. Some of my fondest memories were touring London with Ruby, visiting all the cool sites (Changing of the Guard @ Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, Etc.) We spent many happy hours with Ruby, playing cards (Sometimes, all night) and enjoying her wonderful sense of humor. I will miss her greatly.

I will miss Ruby very much. Ruby was my dearest and closest friend for 45 years. My life will not be the same with her gone however I am so glad that I have 45 yrs of memories that I will cherish forever. I know that she has gone home to be with her father and maker and she is at peace now and knows all the answers. I will live the rest of my life knowing that she is one of my guardian angles taking care of me until I meet her in her new life. I talked to Ruby on the phone on Friday night before she died on Sunday. I will always remember that phone call, and I am so glad that I made it. Had not a clue that this would be the last time that I would be talking to her. Thank you Ruby for all that you have done for me and standing by me. I will never forget you and I love you and all of your family very much.

"Ruby-doo" knew me before I was born. She called herself my Godmother and she called me "Michelle My Belle". I never had any doubt about the love she had for me and my family. She was at every major event in my life. I have many special memories, but my favorite is when she and I spent my 18th birhtday together to go downtown to see & have our picture taken with Drake Hogestyn (from Days of our Lives)!! Ruby, you will be misssed!

Ruby was like a sisrer. She was my friend in every sense of the word. I have known her since 1962 and loved her all of those years where we've shared books, written some stories together, worked together for a while at Dykes Restaurant Supply and we were not only friends, but also neighbors. I have such beautiful memories of my dear friend and I will miss her so much. She will always hold a special place in my heart. To all of her family, just know that she was and is loved my so many. I'm with you all in spirit....Joyce Gray Jackson

I am saddened to learn of the passing of Ruby. I knew her years ago and was so glad to run into her & Mrs. Kitty, Johnny & Bobby in Madison a short time ago & we had a short visit.
Ruby had such a wonderful personality and a genuine sense of humor, unlike anyone I had known before, Example: she and a friend were giving a 'surprise' 50th BD party for the friend's sister who, incidentally, was a well known baker of specialty cakes. This was the same year that Ruby's mom was celebrating her 50th year as the "Queen of Country music" so she called up the friend, ordered a 'special' cake for the celebration of her Mom's 50th year & had it delivered to her the day before the party.
The best 'Surprise' of the party was when the Cake was brought out and the BD girl realized that it was the cake SHE had baked for Ruby, ostensibly, for her Mom.
of course the friend was as thrilled as everyone else that Ruby had pulled off such a neat joke on her. I am sure that all of her family & friends have this kind of memories to hold close.
My prayers and love go out to all of Ruby's family.
"Go rest High on that Mt. My friend.

To the family of Ruby Wright Taylor,
I never had the opportunity to meet Ruby. I had the honor of meeting her parents, Johnny & Miss Kitty. If Ruby was anything like her mama, I know she is singing in that glorious choir up above. My mother who is 96 just buried a daughter. It was the hardest thing she ever went through. I offer you my deepest, heartfelt sympathy. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. For a time her memories will bring you tears, but as time passes those memories will turn your tears to smiles.
