Billy Cordell ELROD Obituary


ELROD, Billy CordellAge 87, passed away December 11, 2012. Preceded in death by mother, Dimple Terry Elrod; father, Berry Cordell Elrod; previous wife, Kathleen Newman Elrod; son, William Kenneth Elrod. Survived by wife, Virginia Nichols Elrod; sons, James Robert Elrod, Terry Newman Elrod (Mary Joe); step daughters, Bonnie Nichols Reimels (Bill), Rebecca Nichols Pease (Rob); grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer, Jon, Rachel, Rebekah, Austin, Nick, Elizabeth; great- grandchildren, Caden, Ady, Henry; sister, Mary Sue Halfacre. Billy was a U. S. Army veteran and a sales representative for Youngs Drug Corporation. He was coach of the 1958 Tennessee Little League baseball championship, and was a member of the Vultee Church of Christ for sixty-two years where he served as a deacon and benevolent Minister. He volunteered at Nashville Christian Towers, Knowles Home and was a graduate of Great Commission School. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to David Lipscomb University, % Billy and Virginia Elrod Memorial Scholarship Fund. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock in the morning of Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Vultee Church of Christ. Visitation at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton-Funeral Home Friday, two o'clock until seven o'clock in the evening, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
