GUTHRIE, Sammie Ackerman Age 81 of Nashville, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at her daughter's home under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Visitation will be at West Harpeth Funeral Home Friday, February 8th, 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, February 9th at 10 a.m., with funeral services at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Sammie was born December 2, 1931 in Nashville to Samuel and Corinne Ackerman. She graduated from Cohn High School in 1951 and attended David Lipscomb College. In 1954, married Robert L. Worsham, Jr., who died in 1959. Married H.B. "Bart" Guthrie in 1982. Mrs. Guthrie retired from South Central Bell. She was a member of Bellevue Church of Christ. Survived by daughter, Peggy (Forrest) Watts; grandchildren, Dr. Melissa (Dr. Jonathan) Crowder, Courtney Watts and Austin Watts; step-children, Gyni Guthrie (David) Garner, Michael (Linda) Guthrie; step-grandchildren, Andrea Guthrie, Jennifer (Mitch) Huber, Ben Garner and great-grandson, Max Huber; sisters, Helen (Louis) Demonbreun, Frankie (Jim) Boyte and brother, John Ackerman, as well as many nieces, nephews, church family and friends. Preceded in death by Robert and Bart; parents, Sam and Corinne Ackerman; sister, Emma Mai Miller; brother, William "Willie" P. Ackerman; grandson, Douglas Watts and great-nephew, Chip Demonbreun.
