Albert Paten (A.P.) Thomasson

Bon Aqua, TN

February 11, 2014 at Signature Health Care in Erin after a short stay.

Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Belle Thomasson. Master Mason and member of the Centerville Masonic Lodge #615. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U. S. Army and was one of the last 27 surviving members of the elite group known as Merrill's Marauders.

He and his wife owned and operated a local paint and body shop, garage and gas station for over 30 years. He was a retired school bus driver for the Hickman Co. Board of Education and former Hickman Co. Commissioner. He was the best father a child could ever ask for. He was a very gracious, pleasant and loving man. He was a 65 years plus member of the Bon Aqua United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his son, Michael Wayne Thomasson and his wife Linda; his daughters, Kay Boyd and her husband Ray, Wanda Larkins and her husband Morris; his only surviving sister, Mary Potts; his seven grandchildren, Mike Thomasson, Wayne Larkins, Kim Hackney, Dale Larkins, Albert Boyd, Jerry Boyd and Jenny Czarnecki; his 13 great-grandchildren and his 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1 p.m., from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home, with Rev. Edward Murrey officiating. Masonic services will be Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Visitation will be Friday, February 14th from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., and continues on Saturday, February 15th beginning at 11 a.m. until time of service. Place of rest will be in the Bon Aqua United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Those desiring, memorials may be made to the Bon Aqua U.M.C., or to the Hickman County Veterans Association.
