Christopher Anthony Gibson

Brentwood, TN

July 6, 1958 to February 3, 2014; Christopher A. Gibson, age 55, passed away from a sudden illness on the 3rd of February, 2014 at his home in Brentwood, TN.

He grew up in Mobile, AL, the son of Herbert H. Gibson and Emma Fetter Gibson. He graduated from W.P. Davidson High School and soon after, joined the U.S. Navy. Chris was a U.S. Navy Seabee Veteran from 1978 to 1983, and held the rank of Petty Officer 2nd class, earning the Navy Expeditionary Medal, the Battle "E" Ribbon, and was a qualified M-16 Marksman. Chris deeply valued the oath he took, the uniform he wore and spoke with pride of his experiences.

After his military career, Chris joined Mississippi Power Company/Southern Company where he worked until he passed away.

He is survived by his partner/soul mate, Cheryl Simons Gibson Barton; two children, Christia D. Gibson of Laurel, MD and Eric S. Gibson of Alexandria, VA; and his father, Herbert H. Gibson of Daphne, AL.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Emma F. Gibson and his brother, Richard F. Gibson.

Services will be held at The Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 1227 Seventh Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37208 on Saturday, the 8th of March, 2014 at eleven o'clock in the morning.
