Katherine S. Kincaid Hammond

Greenville, SC

Katherine (Kathy) Hammond, age 63 of Greenville, SC, died Thursday, May 8, 2014.

She was a native of Nashville and was preceded in death by her parents, George Philip Kincaid and Katherine Wilk Kincaid.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Stewart Hammond of Greenville, SC; her sister, Barbara Kincaid Breen of Nashville, George Philip Kincaid (Edelgard) of Brentwood, TN and Lamont (Monty) Joseph Kincaid of Nashville. She is also survived by six nephews and one niece: William John Breen, Philip Paul Breen, John Francis Breen, all of Nashville, Joseph Patrick Breen (Ivett) of Atlanta, GA, Joe Kincaid (Michelle), Fredericksburg, VA, Jeff Kincaid, Virginia Beach, VA, Katharine Kincaid of Brentwood, TN; and three great nephews and two great nieces.

She graduated from St. Bernard's Academy and Hillsboro High School in Nashville. Kathy was happiest when serving others, as was displayed by her devotion to her job caring for the residents at Greenville Place, a senior living community at the Memory Care Unit in Greenville, South Carolina. "Everyone loved her," was stated repeatedly by her co-workers at Greenville Place.

The Celebration of Life Mass will be held at on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 11 a.m., at St Ann's Catholic Church, 5101 Charlotte Ave., with the Reverend Philip M. Breen and Reverend Joseph Patrick Breen celebrating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The staff at Greenville Place will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McCall's Hospice, W. Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC or a hospice center in Nashville.
