Gray Dudley Sands, Jr.

Franklin, TN

69 years old, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born June 13, 1944 in Old Hickory, TN. Son of Gray D. Sands, Sr. and Eva Jaynes Sands.

Survived by wife, Candace and daughters, Michelle Sands and Amber Veach and her husband Chris.

Gray graduated from DuPont High School in 1962. He obtained his advanced degrees from Vanderbilt and the University of Tennessee. He had an interesting career with General Electric, Heil Quaker, ICP and Whirlpool before becoming a personnel recruiter.

He was the Event Coordinator for the Music City Miata Club, a position he had held for years and enjoyed immensely. He was a larger than life person and will be greatly missed.

Donations can be made to Nashville Rescue Mission or the Elephant Sanctuary in Hohenwald, TN.

A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 3-6 p.m., at the Pavilion at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, 9090 Hwy. 100, Nashville (615) 646-9292.
