Connie D. Currey
Mrs. Connie Delaney Currey, age 76, a resident of Hendersonville, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 to be with her Savior Jesus Christ after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.
The Davidson County, TN native was the daughter of the late James C. and Margaret Griffin Delaney. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Hendersonville where she loved attending services and was frequently uplifted by cards, visits, and calls from her fellow members. In addition to being a homemaker, Connie spent many years modeling for Cain Sloan Department Store. She loved participating in fashion shows and several of her photo shoots found their way into magazines and newspapers. She became the editor of the Cumberland Magazine in Nashville. At one point, she moved to Florida and ventured into the world of marketing and started her own company, CC Marketing. When she returned to Nashville, she started a family wedding chapel business with her sister and had the pleasure of seeing many couples share their vows in her chapel.
She is survived by a son, Robert Neil "Robb" (Teresa) Currey, Jr.; a sister, Donna D. Harrison; a grandchild, Ethan Michael Currey; a niece, Jennifer Wilkes; a nephew, Barry Harrison; a grand-nephew, Conley Wilkes; a host of many other family and friends. She was formerly married to Robert N. "Bob" Currey, Sr., the father of their son.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be conducted Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Spring Hill Funeral Home with Pastor Lloyd Byers officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Historic Spring Hill Cemetery.
